El municipio de Tejeda se encuentra en la zona central de la isla. Esta situado dentro del Parque Rural del Nublo siendo su paisaje espectacular, conformado por las montanas mas altas de la isla asi­ como profundos barrancos. que originan un marco excepcional. En el mismo destacan los antiguos montes sagrados para los guanches como son el Roque Nublo y Roque Bentayga. Asimismo se encuentra el circuito de las presas (las Ninas, Soria); areas receativas como Los LLanos de la Pez; miradores naturales, como la Cruz de Tejeda, Degollada Becerra, etc.
El municipio esta bien comunicado por carretera pudiendo accederse desde el mismo a la zona sur, centro o norte de la isla. Ademas es ideal para practicar senderismo, montanismo, o cualquier actividad en contacto con la naturaleza. El numero de habitantes es apenas de 2.400, residiendo en su casco urbano escasamente unos 850 habitantes.
Cuenta con buen numero de restaurantes donde degustar la cocina canaria y especialmente la resposteria tipica a base de almendras (mazapanes, bienmesabe). Sus fiestas principales son la del Almendro, a finales de febrero, aprovechando que astos arboles se encuentran florecidos siendo un verdadero espectaculo visual contemplar practicamente el paisaje cubierto de blanco por las flores de los almendros. Tambien la Viergen del Socorro, el 2 domingo de septiembre.
En definitiva existen innumerables razones para visitar este municipio asi como disfrutar de unas relajantes vacaciones en sus casas rurales.
